Associate Director – Non
The role holder will be expected to play a lead role in liquidity risk analysis, communicate these risks to management, and develop strategies to control and mitigate these risks. This role can offer wide-scale career progression and significant training opportunities.
Role description:
- Develop a detailed understanding of the UK Retail and Business Banking balance sheet, helping to ensure all non-traded market risks are identified, appropriately managed and understood by senior management.
- Challenge and develop existing market risk measurement techniques (e.g. DVaR, EAR, EC EVE) and propose alternatives where necessary.
- Ensure that UK Retail and Business Banking is compliant with the banks Market Risk policies.
- Close liaison with key internal stakeholders to support and provide guidance to individual business/product areas within UK Retail and Business Banking on the performance of regular liquidity stress testing.
- Ensure successful delivery of an effective revised FTP mechanism, identifying the associated risks and measuring and managing them appropriately.
Skills Experience:
- Direct experience of non-traded market risk management/control, liquidity risk control and/or ALM Balance Sheet Management
- Excellent analytical skills in terms of determining the appropriate analysis to undertake and its execution
- Very strong PC skills (Access, Excel, VB)
- Ability to think creatively and to challenge the norm
- Good awareness of the business, market, regulatory and economic environment
- Ability to communicate complex issues confidently, clearly and concisely to Senior Executives / Risk Professionals within the Bank
- A relevant professional qualification at degree level (e.g. economics, mathematics, statistics) or equivalent experience
