Associate Director, Structured Finance Data Strategy & Operations recruitment
The Data Strategy and Operations (DSO) department of Standard Poor's is seeking an Associate Director to manage a team of 14 Structured Finance data professional. This position will be responsible for delivering tactical and strategic recommendations required for execution of necessary data activities with a concentrated focus on enterprise-wide acceptable solutions within the Structured Finance business. The Associate Director is also responsible for the day-to-day efforts behind data operations and projects including rating release process, recruiting and using additional members of the team to provide larger, more far-reaching deliverables. The candidate must have a strong, broad Structured Finance background.
Responsibilities Include:
- Leading and conducting day-to-day management of multiple data processes liaising with Business unit teams and other operations teams locally and globally
- Recommending and implementing solutions and procedures to the business which include the necessary tasks to achieve high quality data and which take into consideration other systems/software utilized for other purposes to allow consistency and prevent rework.
- On a project basis- staff management for a team of 14 data managers and 6 data management staff (offshore) and 2 assistant manager (offshore) including reviewing their deliverables, shaping their solutions with the DSO Strategy and ongoing performance management processes-
- Providing day-to-day support to project team and business units representing a single accountable individual responsible for deliverables expected from the DSO.
- Providing training on data tasks to data users/owners (Data Operations teams). This may also include assisting in the development of the technical documentation used.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the leadership qualities necessary to manage process and people. He/She will have a solid Structured Finance and data management background and be an effective communicator.
- BA or BS in Business Management, Economics or related field
- 10+ years of professional work experience, preferably within the finance industry
- 8+ years data management experience
- In-depth knowledge of structured finance deals, collateral and debt types, a must
- In-depth understanding of credit ratings, debt issuers, participants and obligors
- Familiarity with financial documentation associated with structured finance deals
- Advanced multi-tasking skills
- Advanced time management skills
- Exceptional presentation skills as must, as incumbent will represent SP at conferences and industry meetings
- Must be able to work in a global team, including managing offshore and outsource resources
