Associate Director/Director
Our client is looking for an Associate Director or Director (depending on experience) to join their EMEA FI team. The successful candidate will be based in London, focusing on the rating of banks and Non-bank FIs primarily in the UK, with opportunity over time to expand to coverage of other regions.
Candidates must have gained several years’ analytical experience, preferably including analysis of banks and firms active in the securities industry, which will position them well to deliver high quality credit analysis and research on banks and securities companies. Candidates should have an understanding of both standard bank metrics and corporate cash flow metrics. Candidates will be expected to assume a considerable degree of responsibility at an early stage. Candidates will be required to carry out data analysis and bank research and write credit rating reports in English. They will conduct in-depth meetings with senior management at rated institutions. They will also be expected to present credit analysis on banks and Non-bank FIs to a rating committee, deal with investor customer queries, prepare for and attend rating committees on institutions from other geographic areas and contribute to internal discussions on rating issues.
In addition to issuer-specific research, candidates will also be expected to contribute to, and over time lead-author, sector-wide credit research and commentary. It is important that individuals are able to work independently while also being good team players, confident communicators, and able to cope with time pressure and deadlines and adapt to a multi-cultural environment.
The candidate wil have a good educational background to at least first university degree level, with several years’ experience of credit analysis. We require a balance of good numeracy, analytical ability and skills in writing concise, fluent English.
