The role is for people with potential in on site end client implementation/design of our product offerings. This role is not for those with a great deal of experience in systems administration/design on our or related product lines. Rather, candidates should have technical BS degrees with no more than 5 (five) years experience.
Candidates really need to able to travel to end clients to do the on site work, so please be flexible in your ability to travel in the Philadelphia PA area
We are looking to make offers out by the end of March 2012 and have people start in mid April 2012.
Please note that the initial training will be based in the Metro Boston area. Please be available to be on site in Boston Monday to Friday for an extensive all paid training course for about 2 months.

The Global Services Associate Program (GSAP) hires candidates locally and trains them centrally. Our Associates are developed through a structured program that combines intensive training and on-the-job mentored experience. This intensive role based-training includes an introduction to the storage industry, best practices and methodologies and the EMC way of doing business. For technical associates, training includes hands-on work with EMC products and platforms, operating systems and storage infrastructure tools. Associates will also receive the foundation necessary to achieve technical certifications (EMC and Non-EMC).
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Associate Storage Operations Specialist II provides operational support to customers to support the management and use of EMC storage solutions. Responsible for performing a wide variety of daily storage
management tasks for effective and efficient storage system use.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides software related custom integration and implementation support on EMC products at the customer site; this may include pre-site inspection, initial installation, troubleshooting, implementation, customization, integration, and outline orientation for the customer.
* Performs daily operational tasks such as storage provisioning and maintaining availability at the customer site. Provisions storage based on standardized procedures as outlined by EMC best practice documentation.
* Successfully manages relations with Customers utilizing negotiation and influencing skills to achieve optimal results. Represents EMC in a professional manner to the customer at all times.
* Prepares, maintains, and submits activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports in accordance with published procedures.
* Keeps Project Managers informed of activities, alerting of any issues promptly.
* Seeks advice or assistance from GS management as required during difficult customer situations. Works in conjunction with EMC customer support colleagues to ensure effective resolution of technical issues encountered.
* Installs EMC software products in a Mainframe and/or Open Systems hardware environment. Performs moderately complex and/or extended-stay software implementations. Supports Program Managers, Project Managers and Solutions Architects in developing Scopes of Work and Project Plans. May also occasionally support other activities as needed.
* Maintains awareness of existing or potential customer software and machine situations. Proactively alerts customer and manager of potential problems based upon basic operating systems knowledge and familiarity with SAN environments.
* Stays current on technical specifications for EMC hardware and software products, including new and soon to be released products. Adheres to proper GS escalation procedures. Keeps appropriate management personnel informed in accordance to EMC policies.
