The FX team provides technical support across the suite of MarkitServ FX products. The application support team works closely with a highly competent Client Services team and the core project teams to resolve client issues and improve the platform. Our work helps ensure that MarkitServ are providing a high quality service and maintaining client satisfaction.

Position summary

MarkitServ is seeking an experienced Application Support professional to join the FX Team. The role encompasses first and second line technical application support for our Trade Processing applications. This person will report to the Support Manager who will work with an experienced team to contribute to the quality of our global support.

Duties accountabilities

Your duties will include the support of our FX STP and market data products ranges providing first and second line application support to our customers.

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a natural ability to learn with a keen interest in technology.

The successful candidate will need to be able to apply strong technical skills and good business knowledge, together with investigative techniques and problem solving skills to identify and resolve issues in a timely and high quality manner.

Liaising with other team members, Product, Development and particularly the Infrastructure and Solutions team as required for 3rd line escalation.

Working directly with clients, if needed, to understand and resolve issues and liaising with delivery teams to ensure the App Support team are ready for new releases

You will also work on initiatives around proactive application health monitoring and reporting.

Business competencies

Education and experience

University graduate or equivalent preferred
Must have experience in Application Support
Good Unix skills preferably including scripting experience
Experience of XML and XSLT.
Must have exposure to SQL databases including stored procedures joins.
Ideally have a good understanding of messaging platforms and protocols like FIX and IBM MQ
Fundamental understanding of networking principles and its practical uses.
Japanese language skills are essential, as the ideal candidate need to support Japanase Clients.

Commercial awareness

Knowledge of the Financial FX standards (desirable)
Good understand of Application Support processes
Awareness of Derivatives products and Trade Processing (desirable)
