Financial Services Practice
Representing 22% of Spencer Stuart's worldwide client base, our Financial Services Practice consists of industry specialists who have conducted nearly 3,000 senior-level executive searches over the past five years.
The Financial Services team is organized around several sub-specialties, including: asset management, consumer financial services, financial technology and operations, insurance, investment banking and markets, and real estate. Within these sub-specialties, our team works for a myriad of organizations, including banks, endowments and foundations, hedge funds, and mutual funds. Our clients look to us for their most important and oftentimes most complex needs.
Consumer Financial Services
Our Consumer Financial Services (CFS) practice is one the biggest and fastest growing segments of our overall Financial Services team. The CFS team conducts search work across functions for consumer and commercial banks, credit card companies, and payments companies. Typical searches in this space include CEO’s, CFO’s, Chief Credit Officers, and head’s of business units. The CFS team also does a fair amount of Chief Marketing Officer search work for both large financial institutions, and smaller groups as well. The group has seen particular growth in mobile payments, and digital marketing in the recent past, as firms change how they interact with consumers.
Job qualifications
The firm has an immediate and critical need for an associate to directly support two consultants working in consumer financial services. Based in either Philadelphia or New York, this individual will help identify, reference and develop the most talented executives for consideration by our clients. The Associate helps manage and advise clients through regular updates, providing them with market feedback and insight into candidates’ motivations, strengths and development needs. In addition, the Associate will work in partnership with the consultant to win new business. Outstanding candidates will have strong financial acumen, the ability to perform critical research and communicate their findings clearly and cogently, and possess the professional presence to engage with Fortune 100 boards, chief executives, and top financial officers. Previous financial services experience, either from consulting or industry, is strongly preferred.
