Job Summary:
Legg Mason is seeking to hire an Associate General Counsel in its Stamford, CT office. This position will focus primarily on registration of a large complex of U.S. open end mutual funds across diverse asset classes, each subadvised by a Legg Mason affiliate.
Key Responsibilities Duties Include, but not Limited to:
- Preparation and filing of annual updates of open end mutual funds prospectuses and statements of additional information on Form N-1A
- Preparation and filing of prospectus and SAI supplements as needed
- Prospectus and SAI disclosure analysis on an ongoing basis
- Provide other legal support to mutual fund complex as needed, including review of shareholder reports, daily interface with product and fund administration units, assistance with new fund registrations, and other responsibilities as determined by supervisors.
Ideal Qualifications Experience:
- Minimum of 3-6 years relevant in-house counsel or law firm experience
- Solid foundation in 1940 Act, 1933 Act and Form N-1A
- Experience using electronic prospectus content management system a plus
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Superior organizational skills
- Must be able to work as member of a team
