Associate Operations Specialist – Listed Derivatives

Listed Derivative Operations support Morgan Stanley client and proprietary traders during the life cycle of all European exchange listed derivative products. The group is diverse and includes teams responsible for deliveries, clearing, allocation, cash and client service.
The Listed Derivatives Core Client Team is responsible for delivering an excellent level of service at all stages of the trade flow, both trade date and post trade date.
The team is responsible for all aspects of the client allocation process for business focus clients, incorporating onboarding and allocation flow optimisation, trade booking and exception management and implementation and execution of value add client processes. They are also responsible for the complete booking process for EU client business out with standard EU hours incorporating full service, clearing only and execution only flow. Within the role there is day to day contact with some of the Firm's largest Listed Derivative clients, as well as an array of global stakeholders.
The team manages all listed derivative position transfers for any clients on all European exchanges and liaises with brokers, Client Service Groups and Prime Brokerage to ensure clients are successfully on or off-boarded.
The team also consists of two trading assistants based on executions desks within the business unit and the successful candidate will be required to provide support for these roles to cover holidays and sickness.
Individuals will be required to work under pressure and to strict market deadlines in order to complete all required tasks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Allocation, exception management and escalation of any trade issues for key business unit defined core clients.
- Implementation and execution of intra and End of Day value add checks for these clients.
- Allocations cover for all clients during late European trading hours.
- Operational on-boarding of new clients and accounts.
- Trade flow optimization for any client trading listed derivative business.
- Completion of all position transfers in and out of Morgan Stanley
- Interacting with clients, Client Service Groups, Prime Brokerage, Customer Relationship Management, Front office, Morgan Stanley Electronic Trading and third party brokers to ensure that all trades are allocated in accordance with client instructions in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all controls and checklists are completed throughout the day, escalating any issues.

Skills Required:
Skills required (essential)
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent (any discipline)
• Proficient in MS Office suite of applications
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to moderate style and delivery as appropriate
• The ability to work in a constantly changing environment; identifying where process improvements can be made
• Guardianship focused, with the ability to identify risk areas and question accordingly
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills, alongside the ability to assimilate and learn quickly
• Excellent organisational skills, ownership of issues and an eye for detail and thoroughness
• Focus on delivering superior client service
• Proven self starter with the ability to independently whilst being a solid team player

Skills Desired:
Experience of Listed Derivatives preferred.
Previous experience of dealing with internal and external clients
