Associate Portfolio Analyst, Fixed Income recruitment
This position contributes to the development of institutional-level portfolio, performance and quantitative analysis for the investment information needs of the company's Business Units and Investment Management. The position is responsible for applying both qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to the job.
The position is responsible for supporting the Portfolio Analysis group by developing insightful investment analysis and repeatable content designed to inform key internal and external stakeholders about T. Rowe Price's investment portfolios and Investment Management.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Analyst Support: Monitors portfolio activity independently and also with other Analysts to develop a strong knowledge base to provide greater analytical support to the Analysis and Commentary Group. This includes reading research reports, sell side research, monitoring trades, portfolio construction and makeup, etc. to help determine portfolio structure, performance impact, and diagnostics regarding portfolio attribution. Incumbent will provide support for creating content and validating analytical data for accuracy and relevance.
- Information Product Content Support: Collaborate with Portfolio Analyst and Investment Strategy Writing team on monthly/quarterly investment commentary development to support external communications needs. The incumbent will fulfill repeatable reporting requirements and assist in ad hoc requests for their area of focus. Some of this will be at the direction of a Portfolio Analyst and some will be initiated by the incumbent. This will also include the creation of Key Content Documents and assisting in the maintenance of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses and content.
- Portfolio Analyst Proxy: The incumbent is responsible for creating their own content for designated investment strategies with limited supervision from the Portfolio Analyst team. This would include interaction with Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Specialists and Business Unit stake holders.
- Performance Analyst: Analyze and interpret investment-related data to communicate decision making process and support external communication efforts. The incumbent may be asked to solve a problem and pull various component reports together mixed with original thinking in order to support an area of concentration within the Analytical Group. Learns to perform increasingly advanced analysis using a wide range of investment tools (including Bloomberg, Barclays POINT, etc.). In order to do this, the incumbent must have a high level understanding of the investment data input, calculation methodologies, and investment principles.
- Generalist: Responds to enterprise-wide requests about portfolios and related benchmarks with minor oversight (e.g., performance, attribution, investment strategy and outlook, portfolio composition, etc.) to support external communication and information needs. This could range from data updates to complex questions. The requests may come from the Portfolio Analysts or may go directly to the incumbent from internal stakeholders.

- Demonstrable experience in business/finance in an analytical role
- Experience with Fixed Income Investments
- Investment management industry experience
