POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Producer (AP) Broadband, under the direction of the History.com Broadband Manager, will be responsible for the day-to-day production and maintenance of History.com video. The AP can expect to work directly with the broadband manager, web producers, art director, editorial director and site manager. This position is a great learning experience, as you will be exposed to all aspects of video for History.com, including publishing, metadata creation, asset creation, editorial creation and content creation, as well as assisting site production in creating web initiatives in a large, content-heavy web site.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
* Assist the Broadband Manager to coordinate and organize all video going on History.com
* Work with online and video producers to organize video content going on the sites
* Oversee the encoding of all video appearing on the sites
* Research and discover which videos are popular and work with the programming team to refine the creation of short form
* Collaborate with a team of internal and external producers, designers and developers on multiple show sites and projects
* Communicate and collaborate with various departments (including Analytics, Ad Operations, Ad Sales, On-Air Programming, Marketing, IT) for show assets, show information, or other business needs
* Provide frequent updates/status reports of tasks or issues on popular show sites to invested parties
* Work with the analytics group to monitor success of their projects, as well as assist them when necessary
* Operate within multiple CMS applications to publish the video, including Interwoven Teamsite, Brightcove Studio, and The Platform
* Closely associate with site producers to assist in the production, design, development and maintenance of show micro-sites, games, and web-interactives
* Assist in editorial production, including database updating and both writing and editing of copy
* Cut promotional images and update Videos landing page weekly
* Proactively maintaining and updating site content on a regular basis
* Engaging in curation of topical content with the assistance of the Editorial Director or editorial staff
* Testing for quality assurance of all new or amended content for accuracy and functionality to ensure a satisfactory user experience
* Work with fellow team members and other departments to secure necessary assets and approval of concepts, images, copy, etc. that appears on the site

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED
* College Degree or equivalent
* Minimum 2-3 years of prior experience in web and/or editorial production with a minimum of 3 years overall work experience
* Working knowledge of video production, post-production with Final Cut Pro and video encoding/transcoding
* Must be able to work across PC and Mac operating platforms, including Microsoft Office, FTP programs, various web browsers
* Adobe Creative Suite 4 or above experience required
* Must be detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking skills
* Proven project management and multi-tasking skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the proven ability to work in small and large groups
* Must have a positive attitude and be adaptable, and competent in a high-stress and high-pressure environment
* Must be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
* Must have a self-managed, proactive work style

PREFERRED
* An interest in television and history
* Comfortable working within multiple CMS applications to execute web production tasks - copy updates, copy-editing, image manipulation, basic HTML coding
* Knowledge of HTML and CSS is greatly preferred
* Knowledge and experience in web-publishing platforms and video-publishing platforms
* Current knowledge on the digital competitive landscape as well as interest in the latest web trends
* Familiarity with SEO (in creating keywords, meta descriptions)
* Knowledge of AP style guide
* Ability to write compelling promotional copy
