Position Description
Your role will be as a member of the global investment team based in London assisting in screening and evaluating private equity funds, principally in Europe. The successful candidate will be involved in fund research and evaluation including the quantitative and qualitative analysis of a variety of potential fund investments as well as monitoring of the existing portfolio. Some travel is required.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Participate in sourcing potential funds, including interaction with placement agents and reviewing materials on funds received
• Involvement in performing due diligence on identified funds. This will include on-site interviews, analysis of track records, peer comparisons and the preparation of investment reports
• Monitoring of existing investments
• Ensure that fund and manager information is entered on our internal database in a timely manner
• Manage and assist in proprietary research projects, for example in-depth market surveys to assess the attractiveness of certain sub-markets and identify the most attractive managers
• Attend meetings with private equity firms and participate in the assessment and discussion of these managers
• Respond to requests for information from clients and colleagues
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a good university degree and up to two years of private equity fund investing experience in addition to a background in accounting, consultancy or corporate finance. Some experience of analysing and executing secondary transactions is an advantage. It is essential that the successful candidate is fluent in written and spoken English and must have strong writing and numeracy skills. Advanced capability with Word, PowerPoint and Excel is a prerequisite.
