Associate, Sales-Trader Emerging Markets
The candidate will be an essential part of the CEEMEA Non-flow Trading desk. Among others, the key primary functions are:
• Take primary responsibility in the distribution of EM non-flow credit products. The main products are loans (syndicated and bilateral), bonds (private and public) and CDS (standard as well as non-standard).
• Interact with the different type of intermediaries and accounts (banks, asset managers, hedge funds, etc), develop a sound understanding of the parameters under which they operate and effectively communicate this information to the team.
• Act independently and commercially to widen the distribution platform for non-flow and structured products. Identify and develop Institutional UK, European CEEMEA and Asian clients that are suitable, actively market to these potential investors and introduce the new accounts to the Bank, which would in turn require:
- Close cooperation with Relationship Managers and proactively pushing the account set-up forward;
- Getting the necessary information from the company and coordinating the internal departments;
- Taking a supporting role in establishing settlement lines and getting the relevant agreements (ISDA, CSA, CVA) to be signed.
• Monitor and understand illiquid markets and develop trade ideas proactively.
• Engage both sides (bid and offer) of a secondary position and proactively develop a potential distribution pipeline for the primary position.
• Analysis of simple documentation and relative value opportunities by using the tools provided by the trading desk.
• Preparation of simple marketing material for clients and assistance in the preparation of presentations and reports.
• Support for traders on operational/administrative daily tasks within the desk.
• Take into account the Bank's global client relationships and coordinate where necessary with business development or local client relationships.
• Use internal CRM systems to record and use client and trading data effectively.
• Participate in the generation of trade ideas through active collaboration with other team-members.
Qualification/Education
• University degree (at least 2:1) from a top university.
• Advanced degree (post-graduate) desirable.
Experience/Knowledge
• Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Basic understanding of fixed income products and derivatives.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop client relationships.
• Ability to close sales and persistently follow up with clients.
• Financial analysis skills.
• Good understanding of credit risk.
• Ability to build cash flow projections.
• Experience in sales, client relationship or other product coverage roles from an investment bank.
