Associate/Senior Associate recruitment
Role description:
The Associate/ Senior Associate will support all aspects of investment evaluation and execution for the firm. Primary responsibilities for this position will be:
• Assist in the preparation of term sheets for potential deals - understanding deal terms and implications
• Ability to analyse legal documentation and identify problem areas and implications for investment returns
• Write investment memorandums for the investment committee
• Developing financial models, confirming and verifying assumptions.
• Conducting primary research on various sub-sectors.
• Performing quantitative and qualitative valuation analyses – for example, identifying comparables and conducting ratio analyses.
• Supporting the firm’s Partners in the due diligence process – for example, developing a competitor list, liaising and communicating with consultants and other service providers.
• Preparing company visit notes and investment memos recommending the transaction for further review.
• Research into new investment ideas to support Partners
• Assisting in the development of databases of companies in the sector, running, maintaining and mining large databases, and drawing up company lists.
The person we are looking for:
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and attributes:
• Minimum three years’ relevant work experience in private equity with 4-5 years experience in the financial industry overall.
• Proven record of outstanding achievements in professional and academic endeavours with excellent oral and writing communication skills in both Chinese and English.
• Strong analytical skills - knowledge of sophisticated financial analysis and cash flow modelling is essential, highly numerate and mathematically creative.
• Has a strong interest in the clean energy sector.
• A self-starter and a team player, with strong work ethics
• Entrepreneurial and thrives in a start-up environment
