JOB DESCRIPTION Five years working on cellular/wireless switching systems (UMTS and GSM) ? Nortel GSMs witching experience is preferred along with Alcatel-Lucent LCP, RNC and Nokia BSC, and SGSN experience. Computer skills must reflect proficiencies with MicroSoft Windows products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Vision, Power Point?). Strong troubleshooting skills are essential. Must possess excellent communication skills and work effectively as part of a team. Must possess a valid/clean driver?s license. Must be willing to perform on call duty and occasional after hours work when necessary. Attention to detail is a must. Candidate must be able to work any shift at various switch locations in the assigned district. Candidate will need to be accountable for their time and productivity in a managed work force environment. Required Skill Sets Physical Requirements: ?Ability to distinguish between colors, read printed material. ?Must have good hand/eye coordination and be able to work with hand tools. ?Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as required ?Climb stairs/ladders, must be able to kneel, stoop, crouch, or work in other possible uncomfortable positions. Education: ?Minimum two year electronic degree or equivalent military experience. ?Good written and verbal communication skills ?Proficient Microsoft Office, UNIX, Scripting computer skills ? IP knowledge base ?Willingness to learn and adapt to a quickly changing environment. Duties: ?Preventative maintenance on network elements ?Software backups of network elements ?Facility (T1/T3 OCn/STSn) test, acceptance, and trouble shooting ?Provision, test, and turn up PSTN, IMT, and GSM trunks ?Install DSX-1 and DSX3 cross connects ?Install LGX fiber cross connects ?Fiber optic cable maintenance ?Support BSC, BTS rehomes and switch migrations ?Interpretation of equipment logs and performance reports to identify system degradation to aid with fault isolation. ?Operation and maintenance of 2G/3G core switching elements. ?Complex trouble-shooting of core switching and ancillary systems ?MTSO building and support equipment maintenance (HVAC, power plant, generators?)
