Attorney recruitment
The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years experience at a law firm or in the financial services industry. The candidate will provide legal counsel to all business lines of the firm and will work closely with the firm’s General Counsel and Legal Compliance team.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and handle specific projects and assignments at the direction of the General Counsel
- Review and respond to legal inquiries raised by business units or departments
- Perform research, provide insight and make recommendations based on best practices
- Prepare and review contracts, agreements, amendments and other documentation
- Review firm marketing materials, DDQs and pitch books prior to circulation externally
- Review of investor subscription documents
- Handle regulator and other governmental audits and inquiries
- Draft and update Compliance Manual and all appendices including Code of Ethics
- SEC, CFTC/NFA and FSA annual updates and reporting
- Work with HR to review employment and confidentiality agreements
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate with 2-4 years of legal experience
- Knowledge of Investment Advisers Act of 1940
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong desire to work collaboratively within a team
- Problem solving skills and ability to identify and implement appropriate solutions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Consistent work ethic through hard work, confidence and effort
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong organization skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of hedge fund trading environment
