Audit Director recruitment

Responsible for leading the Chartis Americas segments within a global IAD department, and assisting the Deputy Audit Director in ensuring IAD is appropriately addressing the corporate process risks relating to Property Casualty. The candidate must be knowledgeable and experienced enough to challenge, when appropriate, the practices, controls, and assertions made by the Company.

*Act as the Deputy Audit Director's partner for all matters relating to Chartis (Property Casualty) Americas processes.

*Manage a team of professionals within the Internal Audit Division for Chartis Americas segment to help achieve IAD goals and initiatives and oversee all Chartis Americas audits.

*Formalize audit procedures to integrate IAD's audit approach across all Chartis Americas corporate functions within the Company globally.

*Lead continuous and proactive communication (written, effective presentations and candid discussions) with key executive management, audit committee members and the board, lead regulators, external audit, and other key service providers, including consensus support from Executive Management on forward looking vision for IAD. Expand outreach within AIG to enhance IAD's reputation as well as increase the level of participation and engagement (visibility) in appropriate senior leadership and Committee forums (i.e. Business Reviews, Audit Committee, etc.) in addition to regular related issues and reporting.

*Execute a comprehensive Quality Assurance Review Program which assesses the entire spectrum of audit work performed by IAD through internal reviews and external assessments to ensure Fed Supervisory preparedness and compliance with IIA standards.

*Keep IAD abreast of the changing risk profile with respect to its corporate processes.

*Assess project risks and provide internal audit perspective for company-wide Chartis Americas projects.

*Manage personnel issues (coaching, informing, appraisal, salary, training and competence development) for those professionals within IAD supporting the Chartis Americas segments.

*Experience working in a global organization and interacting with senior executive management.

*Strong conflict management, negotiating and teaming skills.

*Proven ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without damage to relationship.

*Demonstrated success establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with all levels of board, management and external parties.
*Profound sense of ethics and the ability to deal with pressure from all areas of the business.

*Broad and encompassing perspective with the ability to see relationships in a broad sense and connect the pieces of the puzzle (i.e. connecting the dots).

*Strong, effective communicator (verbally and writing) with senior executive management, and external parties (including external auditor); ability to proactively communicate emerging risks.

Ability to understand the impact of external and internal factors to the risk profile of the company.

*Strong organizational skills and proven ability to effectively prioritize initiatives to meet internal and external expectations.

*Demonstrated success managing and directing an audit team to deliver a value-added assurance function.

*Proven track record of successful business, and organizational leadership.
