Job description
- The Audit Manager will oversee Audits pertaining to State Street Bank GmbH´s activities and State Street´s Global Services Business Units which would include custody, fund administration, depotbank audits in Europe
- In this role the Audit Manager will be responsible for ensuring the audit team is evaluating and contributing to management of the Organization regarding risk and control within State Street Bank GmbH and the Global Services area. The Audit Manager will be seen as a trusted advisor and partner with the management board of State Street Bank GmbH and Business, and will be a key source of knowledge and will manage risk
- The Audit Manager is responsible for successfully planning, executing and completing audits according to a risk-based approach, recommending internal control improvements that may include operational enhancements or efficiencies, and preparing audit reports
- The Audit Manager must demonstrate knowledge of financial and operational internal control methodologies and terminologies (e.g. COSO); process and control industry standards, risk management practices and techniques ; and internal audit process technology and tools for planning, design, performance, testing and reporting
- The Audit Manager candidate will have Audit experience in public accounting (or corporate internal audit) and will have specific experience in either auditing custody, fund administration, depotbank, technical accounting (GAAP) and may have international audit experience
- The Audit Manager will oversee audit engagements to ensure work is performed in accordance with COSO Integrated Framework and the Corporate Audit Division and IIA standards and meet Division deadlines
- The Audit Manager must display a high degree of professionalism and leadership and possess proficient organizational, analytical and project management skills. The Audit Manager must be able to manage complexity, to multi-task and work independently in non-routine situations
- The Audit Manager will facilitate effective communication and coordination with business management at all levels and must have excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills
- The Audit Manager will develop a thorough understanding and knowledge base of the company´s operations, establish effective business relationships within the company and assist management in the understanding and adaptation of internal control principles
- The Audit Manager will have strong team leadership skills which include creating an environment of trust, soliciting diverse views from team members and coaching and developing staff through timely meaningful feedback
- The Audit Manager will maintain a current knowledge of audit industry practices and ensure best practices are always considered
- The Audit Manager will participate in managing a team of Audit professionals. Conducts periodic performance reviews; provides ongoing counsel, training, development and motivation
Qualifications
- Bachelor´s degree in business or related field. CPA, CIA or other applicable certification preferred
- Audit experience and/or related experience managing complex audit operations or related projects
- thorough knowledge of COSO, SAS70 standards, German laws and regulations and EU directives applicable to the assigned area of responsibility
- Excellent analytical, written communication, interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
- Detail and deadline orientated
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
