Audit Manager, Retail and Wealth Team

A large retail banking group is looking for an Audit Manager to join their growing and expanding Retail and Wealth banking, concentrating on customer products and everyday banking. This team sits within the larger Retail and Wealth department. This job will offer a unique level of exposure to different product lines, which can rarely be found in another role. You would be joining a team of experienced professionals who have been in the business for years and have an understanding of the banking group. You would be reporting to the Head of Audit for the department, who is looking to offer a lot of responsibility a person who is up to the challenge, the learning curve and the personal and professional development this role expects.

You will lead and undertake a number of audits in accordance with the agreed plan, as well as identify and assess potential risks working in line with current regulatory and statutory requirements to minimise impact to the business. The role would involve you undertaking complex audits, so you should be ready to challenge themselves. Knowledge of regulatory environment and requirements in the financial services business environment is a large benefit.

The ideal candidate would have experience in auditing a retail banking function as an internal auditor, or as an external auditor from a Top 20 practice. It would be advantageous if you are ACA/ACCA qualified, or working towards one. You would need an understanding of core consumer products such as personal loans, credit cards, overdraft and mortgages, and experience in wealth audit would be beneficial. A proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior management is core. A team player who will work as part of a business unit toward a common goal is the attitude the company is looking for. The role requires a maximum of 20% travel, mostly within the UK, but also to Europe.
