The Company:

Founded in Central America in the late 90’s this Oil Gas Company has grown exponentially.

From it’s Latin American origins it’s acquired assets in the Baltics, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia transforming it in to a formidable global player in the Oil Energy sector.

Headquartered in Asia, with European Headquarters in Switzerland, this is an excellent opportunity for Auditors with Oil Gas, or Mining Metals experience. The salary being offered is very competitive and due to the expansion of the company and the wealth of the sector as a whole, it will present you with excellent opportunities for career growth and professional development.

The Audit function in Europe is split in to two teams. The Latin America team (where Spanish is a prerequisite) and the EMEA team (which involves travel throughout the Baltics, Africa and the Middle East), French Language skills are a bonus for the EMEA team.

 

The role:

This is a very hands on role. You will need to be happy with high travel (up to 70%) as well as travel to remote locations (refineries and storage facilities tend to be “off the beaten track”).

Internal Audit experience, and experience of conducting walkthroughs and fieldwork within a related sector, are essential to this role.

The role is split between Operational and Financial Audits, with an emphasis on identifying and mitigating risk in the Subsidiary operations. This company grows through acquisition, so an important part of your role will be ensuring the subsidiaries are compliant with company policy.

You will be working in small teams and reporting back to the internal audit manager. You will be given a lot of Autonomy in the role and will share the responsibility of leading audits, so this is a great stepping stone to gain the necessary skills required for audit management.

 

The Person:

English is the main business language but you will ideally have additional language skills in French Portuguese or Spanish.

An accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIA,CPA is desirable, though not required

You MUST have the relevant sector experience for this job. This means Oil Gas,  Mining and Metals or another related kind of Heavy industry background. Candidates coming from a commodities background in Palm oil/sugar refinery audits or similar, will also be considered.
