AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN, CARLISLE

Automotive Technician, Carlisle.  This widely respected and renowned motor dealership group have an excellent role for an experienced Automotive Technician to work at their Mercedes-Benz dealership based in Carlisle.

This is a great opportunity for an Automotive Technician to work alongside a team of 6 technicians at our clients’ large workshop based at one of the leading UK motor retail and aftersales service groups.

As an experienced Automotive Technician your key responsibilities will be:

* Recovering damaged or defective vehicles as and when necessary.
* Testing vehicles and diagnosing as and when required by Workshop Controller.
* Ensuring vehicles are thoroughly examined and report orally/in writing on general condition of vehicles with emphasis on customer safety.
* Making sure that all work carried out is to MOT and/or manufacturer safety standards.
* Observing, recognising and reporting on vehicle and component serviceability.
* Interpreting and implementing technical service instruction data.
* Noting and reporting all components, materials and consumables used.
* Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
* Ensuring vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customer or that faults have been reported and noted on job cards.

To apply for the role of Automotive Technician you must have City and Guilds or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Repair and have previous workshop experience. You will need to have some knowledge of using diagnostic equipment, so main dealership experience would be very much preferred. A clean UK driving license is essential.

In return for your hard work there will be a competitive basic salary in place (hourly rate will be dependent on experience) plus the potential to earn bonus based on productivity. You can expect an annual salary of circa £23,000 pa.
