AVP, Business Credit Analyst
Primary Job Functions
- Research and examine risks, assessing financial statements in order to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending.
- Confer with internal Credit Risk Management team and other Bank representatives to exchange credit information.
- Complete credit analyses and underwrite summaries for loan requests, for submission to Bank committees for approval.
- Generate a financial ratio framework, using computer programs, to evaluate customers' financial status.
- Control credit exposure, by developing special management reports or analysis requested by Management.
- Maintain accurate electronic credit files and transaction files.
- Train, counsel, advise, and communicate credit department policy and procedures to department personnel.
- Participate in major department projects and take an active role in cross-functional tasks to assist in driving quality improvements, processes, and initiatives.
- Active involvement in Compliance projects, as needed
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor degree BS/BA required with preference in Finance or Accounting
- Demonstrated analytical skills are essential, with focus on credit, in order to apply principles in the interpretation of financial statement analysis
- Proficiency in Excel, working with tables, conditional and logical formulae is essential.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Effective business writing and professional oral communication skills.
- 3+ years experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Power point, Excel, Word, Access), Internet, and related computer skills.
- Letters of credit and other export credit security activity knowledge
- Ability to prioritize multiple objectives and meet deadlines
- Motivated, self starter able to work in a team environment
- Fluency in Spanish is required. Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
