Commodities Analyst-Energy
- Conduct industry market research and evaluate methods to reduce commodity costs.
- Develop financial models and templates related to commodities and generate sensitivity scenarios. Engage in discussions with commodities director to interpret finidngs.
- Conduct due diligence of commodity programs offered to the company through utilities.
- Use various forecasting and statistical methods to predict trends of commodities, market directions and demand trends.
- Collaborate with commodity suppliers to establish cost-reduction strategies
You will also have the opportunity to apply your analytical skills to new areas, helping colleagues define new products, improve business processes, or address the market in new ways. As a key member of the commodities team, you will have a voice in strategic discussions. Senior management will rely on you to distill and evaluate complex information and communicate it effectively.
The successful candidate must have at least two years of experience as an energy analyst and superior analytical and communication skills. You must be conversant with energy industry practices and procedures, especially as they relate to trading product. Must be able to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Your application must provide evidence that you meet these requirements and are motivated, self-reliant, and able to interact professionally with executives, managers, subject matter experts, and support staff.
