AVP Business Mgr/ Middle office role recruitment
Our client is a very renowned and global investment firm. This role is a business mgr/middle office mgr role in the External Managers Department. This dept’s objective is to identify and develop relationships with the best breed of global investment managers capturing investment opportunities to enhance the firm’s portfolio in all asset classes.
Your main responsibilities as an AVP, Business Mgr include:
• Conducting operational due diligence on fund managers and their service providers to ascertain the adequacy of their internal controls;
• Monitoring fund managers' compliance with investment limits and guidelines;
• Supporting the investment team on their information needs; and
• Liaising with other departments (e.g. Finance, Audit, Risk Management, other asset departments) as the middle office of the department.
• To be effective, you must have a good understanding of internal controls, knowledge of the various financial assets, instruments and derivatives products.
You should possess a good tertiary qualification with 5 to 8 years of working experience in the financial or fund management industries. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience on operational due diligence for hedge funds or public accounting firms in the audit of financial or fund management companies. An additional qualification like CFA or FRM and good working knowledge of computer programmes such as MS Excel and MS Access will be an added advantage. You will be required to travel for this job (which can be around 3 trips in a year each lasting around 1.5 to 2 weeks/trip).
