Over the past five years, Deutsche Bank has achieved the distinction as a market leader within the investment banking community, continually redefining the market standards in the origination, structuring, distribution, and market making activities across an increasing range of asset classes. Recent integration of the Corporate and Investment banking businesses (CIB) has further strengthened its capacity to create added value to clients and shareholders.
Finance division, within Deutsche Bank, partners with the business and other stakeholders to monitor performance manage costs and deliver strategic agenda. This requires Finance to spend increased time on Planning and analysis, educating stakeholders on cost reduction, financial risk management, strategic planning and credit decisions. These changing expectations, along with changes in the regulatory landscape, present new opportunities and challenges to the Finance organization.
In order to meet these challenges, the structure of Finance in Deutsche Bank has changed with the creation of the Finance Director / Finance Manager, Analytics, COO and Specialist roles, supported by off-shore production teams.
Within the Analytics framework, CIB Analytics itself is organised into Regional, Functional and Product focused teams covering:
Ø Business Aligned Analytics (BAA)
- Revenues, Cost and Risk Analysis plus business performance reviews
Ø Financial Resources Management
- Balance Sheet, RWA Capital
Ø Global Markets PL Analysis
- Performance review at Global Markets level
Ø Strategic Planning
- Development of analytical capabilities with particular focus on performance review planning exercises including the business portfolio review, Annual Plan QRM
Ø Management information
- Assist in the design, build-out and continuing development of regular analysis for Finance and Business Management
Role Description
• Manage APAC Regional Analytics including Japan (self-performer) and India analytics (1 FTE). The role will report into the Head of PAN CIB Analytics (VP)
• Work with Senior Management in Mumbai and also with the regional heads of Country Analytics teams, where required, to deliver an agreed ‘book of work’ that provides key stakeholders with timely financial information analysis and aid them to review business performance
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the provision of performance analysis and management information
- Assist in setting priority levels for tasks received from the regional teams
- Deliver the “Book of Work” working in conjunction with regional team managers
- Streamline weekly performance analytics reporting
- Standardise preparation of monthly business performance review packs
- Drive automation of Global and Regional reporting
- Create efficiencies by driving consistency in reporting formats and data sourcing
- Support budgeting, business planning and forecasting
- Develop the team member to build analytical skill sets
- Assist with High profile and ad hoc investigations, where necessary
- Create capacity in the team to assist with urgent requests for financial / non-financial data
Experience / Background
A successful candidate is expected to have worked 7+ years within the Financial Services sector with experience in managing/developing teams, setting up management reporting, streamlining processes and generating efficiencies. Product Control background will be preferred.
The candidate must also be able to demonstrate strong competencies in client orientated service delivery and team building.
The candidate should possess strong conceptual thinking and innovation. He/she must challenge the traditional thought process and encourage efficient way to get things done.
The candidate must have experience of managing people successfully.
Skills / Knowledge
Essentials:
• University Degree or equivalent
• Professional Finance Qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, MBA
- Fluent with Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to work well in and lead a team environment
