AVP – Compliance Policy Team recruitment
Our client, a leading financial services company, currently seeks an AVP Compliance Policy Professional to be based in London
The role will be part of the Compliance Division, and will be responsible for:
- Contributing significantly to the department's policy work: including managing, maintaining and continually improving the quality of policy and procedural guidance
- Proven experience of success working in a bank in a regulatory function or in banking supervision at the UK FSA.
- Leading projects and managing change.
- Compliance/ regulatory risk gained at the regulator, a regulatory function within a consulting firm, or within the compliance function of a bank.
- Leading the internal policy development and implementation
- Leading engagement with UK FSA on regulatory reporting issues
As such, the successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Graduate - ideally in numeracy subject
- Professional qualifications, accountancy, financial services SII diploma, CIMA, IMC etc
- Experience working in a bank's compliance team, experience of working in supervision at the UK FSA (or another regulator), or experience of working at a consulting firm in regulatory/ risk fields.
- A combination of the above would be ideal.
- Sound understanding of UK FSA handbook and UK FSA regulatory regime; Experience in application of UK FSA handbook and implementation of new rules/regulatory regimes;
- Proven ability to draft policy; Comprehensive understanding of regulatory reporting; Project management experience.
- An intermediate understanding of UK FSA and EU prudential regime, including liquidity, large exposures, etc.
- Accountancy or numerical background.
- Understanding of operations - back office systems; Understanding of major prudential reporting requirements (and those being proposed at a European level, i.e. COREP).
