AVP level Java developer – Tier 1 investment bank

The Equities IT group supports Order Management systems, electronic trading front-ends, algorithmic trading engines and direct connectivity to over 40 exchanges.The successful candidate will join a connectivity team who are responsible for the development and maintenance of a low latency connectivity platform that supports the high frequency trading of equities products.
 
The role will involve the optimisation of the current low latency trading platform as well as participation in the on-going innovation and design of the next generation platform. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the equities business to gather requirements, in order to design and implement changes sponsored by clients of the system. You will be expected to collaborate with other connectivity teams across American and Asia in order to maintain consistent performance and standards.
 
The successful candidate will have 5+ years of advanced core Java experience and will ideally have worked on Real Time, multi-threaded development. Knowledge of Middleware and messaging frameworks is also key as well as professional experience working on Unix/Linux. Candidates do not necessarily have to come from a financial background, however any previous development in an investment banking environment will be very beneficial.
 
To summarise, this is a business facing Java development role working on a low latency connectivity platform that supports high frequency trading of equities products. It is a permanent assistant vice president role that will offer a salary of £60,000 - £75,000. Candidates must be able to work in the UK with a VISA already in place if from outside the UK and be able to travel to London for interview.
