AVP – Policy Risk & Regulatory Affairs recruitment

This position is very diverse and will involve some lobbying in Brussels and Paris. Currently the team is divided into different regulatory areas, you will work in the Prudential area looking at external regulations and how they can be implemented to different business areas. Initially you will carry out the upstream analysis, but you’ll then move on to the downstream implementation, ensuring that each legislative change is seen right through to completion.

Key Requirements

• Strong general prudential background with a good understanding of all major prudential risks

• Sound understanding of GENPRU, BIPRU and relevant CEBS, EBA and BIS standards

• Sound understanding of large exposures regime and UK FSA approach to group integrated groups regime etc.

• Understanding and practical experience of liquidity, including the UKFSA regime of self-sufficiency and Basel 3/ crd4+ crr proposals

• Experience of producing an ILAA and of going through the SLRP with UKFSA

• Sound understanding of prudential reporting requirements to UKFSA and emerging requirements to the new European authorities including a sounds understanding of COREP proposals and practical impacts.

• Practical and sound understanding of commercial and investment banking business and governance.

• Experience of attending industry lobby groups and advocating positions, responding to consultations and exerting influence through networks of contacts.

Experience

• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in prudential risk, ideally in credit risk and liquidity risk

•  A general familiarity with all major risk types i.e. credit, market, liquidity and operational risk - Likely to have demonstrated this at UKFSA in a prudential risk role as a risk specialist or as a risk specialist within supervision, at a consulting firm, or in the risk or regulatory affairs function of a major bank

 The ideal professional will have experience in Banking Supervision at the FSA or a strong exposure to Prudential regulation from a Financial Services firm, professionals can also come from Banking, a regulatory consultancy.
