Position Summary:   
Provides direct and indirect nursing patient care as assigned
May provide clinical supervision to CNAs and non-licensed unit personnel as assigned
 
Unit Specific Competencies
Rhythm interpretation
Care of Pre-and post- procedure Cath Lab patient
Conscious Sedation
Phase 1 recovery of anesthesia patients
Assist with Cardioversion procedures as directed
Assist with Tilt Table testing as directed
Assist with Echo procedures as directed
Demonstrates a positive and consistent contribution to the hospital's HCAHPS scores
Ensures that core measure standards are completed as applicable
 
Nursing Care Delivery
Formulates and revises plan of care as indicated by patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness
Involves patient and patient's family when appropriate
Perform a head-to-toe assessment and reassessment per policy on all assigned patients
Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate
Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition
Demonstrates the use of critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities in coordinating and supervising patient care
Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to patient's needs
Completes documentation which reflects current nursing standards and which supports policies and procedures
Manages and operates unit equipment safely and correctly
Demonstrates knowledge of current patient safety goals and policies
Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians and co-workers with procedures
Applies knowledge of infection control policies and procedures supporting standards of care
 
Resource Nurse Accountabilities
Completes the shift assignment of staff within the department based upon the skill, experience and temperament of other nursing personnel and the acuity of the patients
Provides direct patient care to assigned patients
Serves as resource on shift to patient care and ancillary staff, and to physicians
Serves as shift liaison on interdepartmental issues
Helps to maintain a safe working environment in compliance with DNV standards and other applicable regulations, statutes and laws
Works closely with House Supervisor and staffing office to maximize effective patient flow and patient placement on nursing unit

Position Requirements
Associates Degree in Nursing with a BSN preferred
Required: One year of RN experience working in Pre/Post Cath Lab
Preferred: Three years of RN experience working in Pre/Post Cath Lab
Licensed RN in the State of Arizona
ACLS BLS Certification
Ability to work effectively with computer based charting and other clinical software programs
Adaptability to change, organizational skills    
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English 
Flexibility with scheduled days related to patient volume, and needs of the department, may require some weekend shifts
