The Rates Independent Valuation Control Group, within the Global Finance Department, is responsible for the Price Testing (risk based) of all fixed income products. The core responsibilities of the team are to ensure the accurate valuation for the New York Desk positions.
Main Function
This role will also be responsible for appropriate price testing for EM Rates trades. Heavy interaction with PCG mgmt, Front Office, Risk and IT. This person will work closely with the business to gain a strong understanding of the positions, the rationale of execution, and estimated profitability.
Price Testing and Reporting:
- Ensure adequate curve and risk usage
- Ensure completeness and accurate representation of the risk associated with the external and internal rate spreads
- Continuously improve the efficiency of the price testing process through automation and reengineering of the existing process
- Perform ad-hoc pricing analysis
- Fulfill senior management, regulator and auditor requests for market data, analysis and commentary
Main Duties
- Monthly price verification and reserve calculation process
- Review and enhance market value adjustments methodology for bid offer and curve risk
- Responsible for the market value adjustment monthly calculation and review process
- Serve as liaison with trading desk, risk, technology, operations, finance and other divisions as it relates to PV and reserve methodologies
- Prepare monthly presentation for the senior management with IPV results
- Ad hoc projects
Person Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of working experience in price testing area within a Financial Institution
- Sound product knowledge in fixed income and interest rate derivatives
- Strong MS Office skills. Also, a plus for experts in MS Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- CFA designation or recent MBA desired
- Emerging Markets fixed income experience
- Highly motivated and driven to succeed in a challenging environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills in both the written and verbal form
- Detail oriented - proactive and tenacious approach to problem solving
