Responsibilities

The Role / Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include assuming lead analyst role for the rating of US RMBS, Canadian covered bond transactions and other securitizations of mortgage-related collateral. The analysis will include analyzing data, deal structures, legal documents and cash flows; performing reviews of originators and servicers and writing timely, accurate and insightful press releases and transaction reports. The candidate is also expected to publish timely and in-depth research reports, interact effectively with market participants and speak knowledgeably at conferences and investor briefings.

Qualifications
MBA or Master's Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics or Mathematics, with at least 5 years finance-related analytical experience, preferably involving residential mortgage products. Strong academic record (both graduate and undergraduate); fluency in spoken and written English and strong writing skills required. Solid computer spreadsheet software skills mandatory, additional statistical packages strongly preferred. Knowledge of, and practical experience in, financial/bond markets and cash flow modeling preferred, and programming experience (VBA) a positive. Strong oral and written communication capabilities, ability to manage multiple projects, work closely with others as well as independently to produce accurate, detailed work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is a must.

The successful candidate will join our Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) team in New York City, which is responsible for rating RMBS and Canadian covered bond transactions.
