AVP Treasury (FX & Money Market) Front Office

Our client has a broad product offering including; Electronic execution service over their Direct Market Access (DMA) infrastructure; Clearing, matching and settlement of derivatives and securities; Positioning of guarantees to clearing houses and exchanges; Financing of margins, premiums and securities positions; Integrated position administration and risk monitoring and Electronic output delivery over the internet and through file transfer.

As the AVP in the Treasury (FX Money Market) Front Office you will monitor and execute treasury activities to support the Asia Pacific Clearing Services ensuring effective cash management, with objective to maximize the return of these funds. The treasury activities include money market and FX transactions. This job entails working closely with internal, external clients and central counterparties. External clients include those active on the Asia Pacific markets e.g. professional traders, market makers, banks, brokers and hedge funds. Central counterparties include SGX, HKEX, etc. Internal clients include subsidiaries, colleagues in the clearing / settlement departments and finance department. Next to the day-to-day process, the role includes improving the existing process and active participation in projects (new products/markets etc), preparing ALCO documents and presentations and supervising other members of the Treasury Team. In the supervisory function the role is also to assist the other staff in their development and awareness of the changes in the Treasury environment.

The key deliverables and activities for the AVP in the Treasury (FX Money Market) front office include:

Cash management – Funding each sites cash needs, while still maintaining appropriate levels of Reserves to meet Exchange and Regulators capital and liquidity requirements. Duties include:

Management of cash flows in and out of The Bank’s Clearing (head office) and Singapore Branch, ensuring the maximum returns are achieved on these funds and the borrowing occurs in the most efficient manner.

Ensures profitability by collection of data regarding the expected settlements flows per day for the markets appointed, analyses and interprets the settlements flows regarding necessary collateral and cash management actions, based on the treasury policy, market knowledge and product portfolio of BCC, in order to determine appropriate corrective actions to contribute to an optimal regional liquidity position of Clearing.

Manage banking relationships with key suppliers in conjunction with local Finance department.

Execute money market and FX deals. Responsible for dealing, fixing confirmation of these transactions and giving instructions to the settlement department to ensure transactions are processed accurately.

Process improvement - Implement changes to improve overall process to achieve higher accuracy, efficiency, quality and profitability.

Supervisory – Supervise other staff as well as train them in day to day functions and where possible increase their knowledge of Treasury products, regulations and functions.

To be considered for this AVP role in the Treasury (FX Money Market) front office you will likely offer the following:

Bachelor’s degree in related field. A finished Master degree is preferred.

In depth knowledge and proven track record of Treasury and Cash management activities. Asset Liability Management (ALM) knowledge, as well as trading experience (FX and money market).

Well developed communication skills as this roles require regular contact with counterparties and intermediaries

Around 3-5 years relevant working experience in a front office capacity, likely within a Treasury dealing / funding or Asset Liability Management (ALM) capacity.
