AVP, Compliance - APAC Regional Role
Duties:
- Report directly to Regional SVP
- Responsible for supporting the Company in meeting all regulatory requirements across the Asia Pacific region
- Provide advice on relevant Compliance policies, procedures and regulations to the business areas in the region.
- Assist in producing periodic global compliance reports for internal and external use.
- Assist in research for legal and regulatory requirements and development in the region; recommend changes and foster amendments to existing compliance policies in the region and/or draft and develop new policies and procedures as needs arise
- Participate in investigations and special projects as assigned
- Assist Global Compliance Department with surveillance program
- Interface with the Regulatory Affairs, Legal and Audit Departments regularly
- Act as a key contact for Compliance issues in the assigned region and develop productive relationships with management and relevant external parties
- Provide compliance and regulatory training to internal staff in the region
- Assist in and provide compliance advice to management for business expansion into new countries in the region
- Assist in the planning and coordination of visits of Senior Executives to key policy makers as needs arise
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree holder or above
- Qualified lawyer highly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years' Compliance experience with a regulated financial services company
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations relating to the SFC
- Native/high fluency in English required; fluency in either Mandarin and/or Cantonese preferred.
- Willing to travel frequently within the region as needs arise
- High level of integrity and sound judgment
- Strong orientation to deadlines and details; able to manage a diverse and demanding workload
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
