AVP/Operations Manager I - Information (PL/SQL), Project Management and Business Analytics This role will provide support across the Default (Mortgage Banking) organization with a primary focus on managing each initiative from planning through execution including helping gather business requirements and code/query for initiatives/strategies (mailing campaigns) along with providing operational analytics and reporting relative to key performance indicators. This team member will also work very closely with the team Information/Data and Business Analysts including our operational business partners, management, Legal, Risk, Capital Markets, Marketing, MIS, Compensation and other Information/Data Analysts to ensure the appropriate reports including waterfalls are developed and deployed as needed. In addition, this candidate will play a key role in helping to manage strategic initiatives and identify process efficiencies along with system enhancements. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: · For each initiative, represent department as a Manager in regards to all deliverables including gathering business requirements for the waterfall (eligible population), requested reports and understanding the process flow for each campaign. If we have used the business requirement for a previous program, it is your responsibility to know that then reach out to get the information from our department team members (Business Analysts primary or Information Analysts) including other Mangers (secondary), local on-site Subject Matter Experts (SME) and then our MIS partners (within our umbrella) first prior to going outside of the department to ask for help. · Required: Proper quality control (QC) and due diligence of your own work but also your team's work prior to sharing with any other team member and/or management; own it and have total accountability. · Represent the department on project/initiative conference calls including gathering, understanding and socializing with the team all requests, deliverables including timeline and follow ups. Organizational skills are a must and required. · Become an department SME; where you understand all of our deliverables and able to review the timeline presented by each Project Manager (PM) to either approve or make adjustments based on your knowledge of our team's required time to deliver on each task including incorporating time for any obstacles that you know that may surface (strategic thinking). · Must be knowledgeable and comfortable to make decisions on behalf of the team that are in aligned with department policies and procedures. · As a Manager for each deliverable, you are accountable for making sure all deliverables are met within the required time and not late. This will require you to partner but also track your team members (Information and/or Business Analysts) to make sure they are working within the time constraints and on-point to deliver before the deadline giving you enough time to QC and properly review. · If not already there, become knowledgeable and hopefully an SME in regards to your knowledge about our mortgage systems: MSP and VLS (solely HE) including system screens, fields and specific codes for all business requirements; especially those commonly used?you should know by memory. · Make sure your team design, develop, and document reporting requirements as defined by the business for each initiative · Be able to step back and look at the whole picture so you can identify data process improvements and system enhancements by leverage technology to automate and streamline existing processes and system constraints?."work smart" as we always encourage strategic thinking; "outside the box." · Managing reporting within the department (stay on same page) to create and maintain consistency; no inconsistencies between initiatives or overall team's reporting · Perform analysis on reporting of initiatives and be able to "tell the story" via scorecards or summarized for executive reporting · Must be comfortable talking to and presenting in front of management including the executive team · Assist in the development of ad-hoc reports or presentations as needed by senior management · Make sure your team documents all desktop procedures for all work related functions and there is a backup trained for each role including your own; assist in cross-training backups as needed. · Interface with LOB and MIS resources (if needed) to ensure that reports are accurate and deployed in a timely manner · Work closely with the MIS team to investigate issues and resolve any reporting discrepancies · Develop trending and forecasting models to track and validate various key performance measurements by specific business segment · As needed; provide guidance an/or design, write and maintain data requests/queries/waterfalls to support the business and your management team · Ability to review code/query of the Information Analysts to make sure it captures all business requirements but also for possible issues that may affect performance or running time; use as a mentoring opportunity to advance their knowledge?learning experience. · As needed; manage, supervise and/or mentor other team members - share your knowledge; succession planning is very important including helping employees achieve their personal goals even if they are outside our department. · Additional duties as assigned by management
