BA Loss Data Remediation and Validation, UK Corporate Bank recruitment

A Credit Portfolio Analytics (CPA) department within a leading UK investment bank has just had budget signed off for 2 Business Analysts. The role is based in London and the contract is 3-6 months.

Rates of pay are negotiable.

CPA forms an integral part of the Credit Risk Management function and is directly responsible for designing, estimating, validating, implementing and monitoring the performance of models that estimate counterparty Probabilities of Default (PDs), Banking Book Exposure at Default (EAD) amounts and Loss Given Default (LGD) estimates.

THE ROLE

There is a specific short term requirement to collect and validate historical loss data for the NBFI (Insurance, Funds, Broker Dealers), Global Small/Medium Enterprises (GSME) and Large Corporate models.

Reporting directly to the Workstream Lead within the CPA Models Management Control team, the Business Analyst is responsible for assisting with the loss data remediation exercise and validation of the data on receipt from the respective Credit team.

KEY ACTIVITIES

- Management of case list excel tracker.
- Distribution to Business Units pre populated templates based on agreed case lists.
- Provide guidance to Credit managers to assist with the completion of the template.
- Validation of the completed template against system data, electronic or paper files, co-ordinating any further remediation activity.
- Following validation, process the templates via an aggregation tool and then complete data quality checks.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Credit risk background.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of credit risk systems and processes.
- Ability to demonstrate strong background knowledge of banking book products
- Proven track record of planning and delivery.
- Ability to take ownership of and complete tasks to strict deadlines.
- Excellent writing and Excel skills
- Strong verbal and inter-personal skills, with the ability to deal with reluctant RM’s and Credit officers
- Team Player

DESIRABLE SKILLS

- Prior experience within an Investment Banking environment
- Understanding of Basel II
- Knowledge of trading book products
