TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In EMEA, Newedge Group currently performs banking activities in the UK, through wholly owned subsidiary (NEUKFL), as well as through branches in France and Germany.   As a result, Newedge has MiFID transaction reporting obligations primarily to the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA), as well as to Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) and to Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin). 

As part of discharging its regulatory responsibilities, Newedge UK has set up a team within Operations to oversee the Transaction Reporting functions on a day-to-day basis, to cover all regulators that require transaction reporting in EMEA.

Objectives of the Role:
Carry out any business analysis related activities in the Transaction Reporting Team, ranging from addressing issues, review of change items potentially impacting the reporting, to involvement in the strategic development of the transaction reporting system.

Act as occasional support for the Production process when required.

Main Responsibilities:
• Develop expert knowledge in regulatory requirements, processes and systems for EMEA Transaction Reporting
• Build relationships within the team, with IT, other upstream Operations teams, Compliance, PMO and other areas of Newedge,
• Prioritise, investigate and remediate issues and develop control improvements - working closely with the TRT Manager, Production and IT, liaising with upstream parties where required.
• Identify improvements in BAU control processes and enhancements to technology infrastructure, monitor remediation action plans and co-ordinate any Regulatory Reporting related project work,
• Involvement in the longer term strategic development of the transaction reporting and related systems,
• Project management in support of the above - define and produce comprehensive project documentation, including project proposals, stakeholder plans, project plans timelines, business requirements, test plans and release planning, co-ordination between relevant parties and active requirement in the analysis or testing if required
• Analysis of systems /flows / data required to identify issue root-cause, complete detailed requirements or carry out the testing,
• Maintain contact across several change management  teams to proactively detect and assess impacts to transaction reporting of new business items and work with Compliance for new regulatory rules or rule changes,
• Be flexible in contributing to other activities in the team when necessary, for example supporting the daily production process

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Essential Skills and Experience:
• Financial Industry experience with emphasis on Non-financial regulatory reporting (e.g. MiFID).
• Solid, in-depth  understanding of financial markets, trading and clearing of listed products -  derivatives (Futures and Options, Securities) and OTC products (Derivatives, Commodities) and particularly the processes within these areas of Operations
• Understanding of functional differences between teams, risks, process, technology and terminology
• Experience of Operations control environment
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in Business Analysis and preferably some experience of Project Management
• In-depth knowledge of methodologies, tools and facilities to manage and deliver Business Analysis - UML (use cases) - and knowledge of IT systems commonly used for Regulatory reporting processes.
• Attention to detail is essential
• Organising and chairing meetings
• Experience in designing Management Information
• Some knowledge of the total IT Project Development lifecycle
• Demonstrates the ability  to partner with internal stakeholders and create good working relationships
• Experience in liaising and presenting to senior management/ executive staff and strong stakeholder management
• Experience in the technical domain, data analysis and presentations tools (Excel Macros, Work, PowerPoint and Visio)
• Strong analytical, organisational and communications skills
• Self motivated, enthusiastic and pro active
• Flexibility and ability to learn quickly
