Commodities: Senior Oil Markets Analyst Jobs, USA

Bloomberg is building a world-class commodity analysis platform for its clients. We are attracting top talent from the industry to work with in this growing team helping expand our global oil market offering. Your role will be to build analytical tools and models which can be used by our clients to help analyze the global oil market. You will specialize in refinery outages/onnages/maintenance schedules; OTC oil swap forward price curve construction; oil geographic arbitrage analysis; as well as refinery netback calculations.

You should be a subject matter expert in oil markets globally and will be expected to continuously stay abreast of current/hot topics to broaden and build upon your subject matter knowledge.

Responsibilities include:
-Helping to maintain and work with our refinery calculators covering outages/onnages/maintenance schedules.
-Designing and developing quantitative models to help improve the quality of OTC oil swap forward price curves in our fair value price curves tool.
-Build analytical tools and potentially reports to support short-term oil geographic arbitrage analysis.
-Managing a refinery netback calculation tool.
-Communicate market developments and analysis to management.
-Work with programming to help develop and test your models.

Required Experience:
-Strong knowledge of the global oil market as a market analyst
-Understanding of the physical infrastructure in the oil industry
-Minimum 3 years experience in a similar analytical role on an oil trading desk as an oil markets analyst
-Ability to follow through on goals independently while communicating progress to team members
-Ability to join and contribute fresh ideas to an exciting market-leading commodity product push
-Knowledge of Bloomberg nice but not necessary
