SUMMARY

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•          Responsible for the quality and control of the loan portfolio.

•          Analyzes prospective loan transactions and credit worthiness of borrowers.

•          Oversees all credit analysis and provides opinions and recommendations regarding proposed credit and potential risks

•          Ensures all due diligence and background evaluation is complete and thorough before credit approval is granted.

•          Support and/or coordinate credit activities with Business Lending for prospective new clients or existing credit accounts

•          Actively participate in Deal Review meetings

•          Develop and manage the Bank’s credit policies and procedures both for portfolio loans and loans held for sale to third parties.

•          Perform valuations on transfers to the portfolio.

•          Make loan decisions within the parameters of approved lending authority, and make recommendations to the Bank’s Director’s Loan Committee and Credit Risk Committee for transactions exceeding Bank officer authority limits

•          Participating in due diligence for all loan purchases, and provide credit decision recommendations for all proposed portfolio purchases

•          Ensure that the overall asset quality meets expectations

•          Analyze the impact of new product design, enhancements, pricing, loan sales, and modifications and other initiatives to ensure adequate investor liquidity and gain-on-sale opportunities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the Credit and Credit Administration plus all underwriting and analysis personnel. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; and 10 to fifteen years of credit experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
