An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Banking Project Manager role in the Product Platform team based in Geneva.
Team Overview:
The Product Platform team is focused on delivering high impact product solutions for the International Private Bank (IPB) business. The Banking Custody Project Manager will work closely with the Banking Custody Practice team to deliver and execute new product ideas, develop efficient operational and service processes, and provide solutions to meet the striving demands from the business. The Product Management team will partner closely with other Asset Class Leaders, Investors, Bankers, Risk Management, Credit, Technology Operations, and Finance to focus on cross-departmental product initiatives as appropriate.
The banking and custody business consists of both consumer and business clients across a growing set of products to include: Time Deposits, Current Accounts, Savings Accounts, Sweeps, and Global Custody. We do this with a focus on executing strategic initiatives and managing day-to-day "business as usual" activities:
- Developing and enhancing products, platforms, technology and tools that improve our client and advisor experience
- Ensuring proper controls exist to manage operational, PL, and reputational risks
- Developing reporting and analysis to assist in tracking existing products, support ongoing projects and uncover opportunities for growth
Responsibilities:
The Banking Project Manager will have specific responsibility for managing and/or supporting projects. He/She will work as part of a global, cross-product team, but will focus primarily on the development of a robust treasury model for Private Banking legal entities. The successful candidate will also lead other product development initiatives as opportunities arise.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Working with legal and compliance teams to understand regulatory framework and requirements for onshore deposit-taking and custody services in target markets
• Working with technology, finance, and operational counterparts to define and implement a cash management model inclusive of nostro management, funding, trade execution, risk management
• Working with business partners to define target product offering; develop business requirements to support build-out of these products in the Private Banking and corporate technology infrastructure
• Working with legal and compliance teams to develop appropriate client documentation (terms and conditions, account applications, disclosures, etc)
• Defining relevant control and mis reporting for the local market and global banking teams
Skills required
- Strong project management discipline and mindset
- Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, overcome obstacles, and articulate effective solutions
- Ability to translate business and operational needs into cohesive requirements documents for technology development
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Powerpoint, Access is a plus
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to develop strong partnerships and work effectively across diverse teams and geographies
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Must enjoy taking ownership for the delivery of measurable results
- Strong problem solving skills, able to add value rather than just accept the status quo
- Degree in finance or other related business discipline
- Previous experience of treasury, banking, or custody experience
- Must be fluent in English; fluency in French and other foreign languages is a plus
