Strategic Change: I-Portal Programme
- To successfully manage and deliver Projects, Sub-Project workstreams within a Major Programme or multiple smaller Projects within the Business Change Portfolio, demonstrating Project Management expertise
- To manage the inter-dependencies, risk and issues of the project on a day-to-day basis on behalf of a Programme Director
- To ensure that the Project produces the required deliverables, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost, and producing a result that achieves the benefits defined in the Business Case
- To direct detailed and complex analysis, investigation, research and evaluation of the business on a major change project
- To provide objective analytical insight based on work completed by Subject Matter Experts (SME) on a project
- To formulate and present recommendations based on analysis in order to influence the decisions of lead project and business management
Job Description:
- Understand the broader context in to which the Project will deliver and act as champion for the Business Unit
- Direct detailed analysis and evaluation of the Business on a major change Project
- Ensure that the Project produces deliverables to the required standard and within the specified constraints of time and cost, and produces a result that achieves the benefits defined in the Business Case
- Quality assure the overall integrity of the Projects; ensure the Projects for which they are accountable for are aligned to and deliver against the Programme objectives and business strategy
- Manage any Project dependencies, interfaces, risks and issues affecting the Project's delivery
- Provide objective analytical insight based on work completed by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on a Project
- Formulate and present recommendations based on analysis in order to influence the decisions of lead Project and Business Management
- Plan monitor the Projects/workstream progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action or escalating as appropriate
- Manage the Project budget, monitoring the expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the Project progresses
- Provide regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate
- Monitor costs, timescales and resources used and take action where these deviate from agreed tolerance
- Ensure that Projects are formally closed and where appropriate, subsequently reviewed and that lessons are learned
- Initiate communication between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact for defined groups by facilitating open communication
- Facilitate the Business change decision-making processes and the planning and implementation of change
- Lead, coach, mentor the Project team, ensuring the project is running to GCM standards
Person Specification:
Essential
- Programme/Project Manager with Programme/Project experience
- Strong Programme/Project mobilisation / initiation / planning experience in addition to management of established Programme/Projects
- Must be able to demonstrate good stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with strong and influential personal credibility
- Strong leadership skills with evidence of managing teams across a range of disciplines and locations
- Commercial acumen including client/customer focus
- Proficient user of MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel
- Understanding of Barclays Behaviours and displayed at all times
Preferred
- Has operated in roles facing off directly to senior Stakeholders
- Financial Services industry experience
- Ability to manage and deliver Programme/Project scope in a business that is undergoing a high degree of organisational and strategic change
- Formal external qualification/accreditation to Prince II or PMI methodologies, or at least experience of Prince II/PMI in a project environment
- Willingness to undergo any necessary training to reach the required level of accreditation
