Role and Responsibilities

A Behavioral Health Technician is one that assists the counselors or therapeutic team by giving clinical support services to clients or patients who are suffering from substance abuse or mental irregularities and are housed in our residential facilities.

·         Function as a dynamic part of the management team who offers continuous client care, interaction and role modeling for individuals that have problems regarding their mental health or have substance abuse issues

·         Document relevant information regarding the patient’s activities

·         Participate in crisis intervention situations

·         Ensure the safety of the client, making rounds and monitoring the patient’s meals

·         Ensure the abstinence/sobriety of all clients under treatment and immediately report any use of alcohol or drugs witnessed or suspected

·         Transport clients safely to administrative offices, meetings, and appointments following all van policies stated as stated in the Employee Handbook.

·         Maintain the utmost level of professionalism with clients at all times, refraining from any personal conversations or relations.  (For more explanation see Client Related Policies in the Employee Handbook)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent and at least 1 year of behavioral health work experience.
