Bench Service Technician / Administrator Job in Dartford DA2 7SY, Southern UK

Helvar is an international lighting technologies company specialising in energy efficient components and solutions for lighting applications and lighting control systems.  Our UK offices are in Dartford, Kent.

Main Purpose of the Job

To be part of the Customer Support Team and to provide Bench Service expertise and administration support to both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide fault finding and repair expertise for products returned from site

• Communicate by telephone and email with the customer, ensuring return procedures are met

• Administer and maintain an effective customer repair service using an electronic database

Key Actions

• Ensure investigation and repair of units returned from the field are carried out in a timely manner

• Provide product expertise to the customer via the telephone or email in relation to returns

• Communicating and agreeing with the customers on repair costs

• Logging on received units and logging off repaired units, then invoicing following dispatch

• Maintain graphical data for quality reports

• Provide technical fault reports

• Improve upon the turnaround time for products being returned to customers

Key Skills/Competencies

• Ability to read wiring diagrams and or drawings

• Have good product knowledge, with the ability and willingness for continuous improvement

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with the ability and willingness to learn other software packages e.g., SAP

• Good attention to detail

• Ability to work both alone or as part of a team with a flexible approach

• Good organisational skills with a pro active approach

• Good communicator, with a professional manner to both internal and external customers
