BI Business Analyst

For this Investment Banking Giant we are looking for a Vice President level Lead BI Business Analyst. The Lead Business Analyst will work on the Client Franchise Analytics program. The candidate should have a very strong knowledge and experience in the financial industry, ideally with a wide breadth of knowledge in various asset classes and related processes. The candidate should be able to develop an understanding of the business information, the overall business strategy as well as key business metrics and analytics.

The person will be responsible for identifying and assessing emerging business intelligence needs, providing a thought-leadership for new functionality and driving the direction for the associated projects. The person will perform the analysis and guide other team members in the gathering and review of requirements, participate in the solution design, implementation and rollout. Experience managing a diverse group of stakeholders, including business, operations, and technology at different levels of the organization as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, and relationship management skills are required.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Liaises with the Program Manager to build strong partnership with the business clients and ensure full alignment of the program strategy with the client needs

·         Assist the Program Manager with the program governance, communications to stakeholders and running of specific working groups

·         Assist the team in maintaining the overall program Book of Work ensuring that all requests and feedback are captured and prioritized

·         Define scope of business requests, perform high level business analysis and facilitate sign offs on business requirements

·         Work with the team to explore new opportunities to leverage the platform for other business areas and to identify new ways to increase the value of the platform to the business

·         Work with the team on new business proposals, feasibility studies, estimates  and POCs

·         Prepare and present compelling business case material to stakeholders at all levels of the organization

·         Implement and ensure consistent application of BA processes

·         Conduct user training: one on one demos, webex sessions and post-deployment follow-ups

·         Work with the business, infrastructure partners and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth deployment of solutions

·         Analyze the application usage and solicit user feedback to ensure successful adoption of the application across all business groups

·         Define a strategy and a plan to increase/improve user adoption, if necessary

You will have:

·         Relevant business analysis experience in the financial industry

·         Good knowledge in at least one asset class and related business processes is a must

·         Experience delivering front office and/or back office solutions in the financial industry

·         Awareness of industry trends to drive change and continual improvement in Business Analysis

·         Ability to document business requirements effectively and efficiently

·         Maturity and persuasiveness to engage in business dialogue and support stakeholders

·         Ability to work across multiple business groups and domains

·         Ability to balance interests of different stakeholders

·         Ability to work in virtual teams, ambiguous situations, and within matrix organizations

·         Database skills (SQL, some data modelling) is a must

·         Experience with business intelligence and reporting solutions is a must

·         Experience with / knowledge of data warehouse technologies is a big plus
