We are currently seeking a Biologist or med lab tech with experience in handling clinical (human) samples to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Bethesda is in the Washington DC metro area. The contractor shall: 1. Process clinical samples: separation of serum/plasma, isolation and cryopreservation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells PBMC, handling other clinical specimens. 2. Extract DNA and RNA from clinical samples. 3. Perform cytokine analysis using magnetic beads based multiplex assay or ELISA based assay. 4. Perform data analysis using relevant computer software. 5. Manage the storage and retrieval of clinical samples and information through record keeping in accordance with regulations in regards to patient information and privacy; use electronic database to input and track clinical samples. 6. Process and ship samples to collaborators, manage data, and results from those samples shipped. 7. Assist ongoing research in the lab, performing other laboratory procedures RT-PCR, flow cytometry and by managing and providing information. 8. Work with staff on the handling and storage of clinical samples. 9. Organize and maintain a clean and safe working space. REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have: 1. BS in Biology, medical lab tech, related discipline. 2. Minimum of three 3 of years laboratory experience. 3. Experience with handling and storage of clinical samples. 4. Experience with ELISA, PCR, DNA/RNA extraction,and flow cytometry. 5. Proficient with paper and electronic data management and computer data entry. 6.
