Biomedical Equipment Tech Job in Ontario, California Us

Under indirect supervision of Chief Engineer or Director, Plant Services, performs documents electrical safety tests, preventive maintenance, repair of electronic biomedical equipment maintains an equipment inventory. Under direct supervision assists in training personnel on safe use of biomedical equipment modifies equipment or makes system changes as required.

Essential Functions:
- Upholds KP's Policies Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities applicable state, federal local laws
- Performs documents scheduled inspections electrical safety tests necessary to maintain conformance to code requirements
- Performs documents biomedical equipment repairs tests all new repaired biomedical equipment before it is put into service
- Documents the performance of tests other scheduled maintenance on biomedical equipment in accordance w/ code requirements
- Modifies biomedical equipment or makes system changes
- Reviews work performed by outside service vendors to ensure defined specifications are met results are properly documented
- Maintains an inventory of the medical center's biomedical equipment, replacement parts standby equipment necessary to minimize disruption of patient care
- Investigates reported incidents involving biomedical equipment to determine source to recommend remedial action
- Assists in training medical, nursing paramedical staff in the safe use of biomedical equipment
- Performs other related duties as required
- Promotes, ensures improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent w/ the organization's philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations quality service
- Assume other activities responsibilities from time to time as directed

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the performance corrective preventive maintenance of all types of biomedical instrumentation used in patient care (of which two (2) years must be in a clinical environment).
- AA/AS degree in electronics preferred.
- Current valid California Driver's license.
- Ability to demonstrate he/she is not colorblind.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with general Medical Technologies and Patient Related Electrical Safety.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Must meet the physical requirements of the job.
- Experience with basic computer functions.
- Experience maintaining a variety of medical technologies (Patient Monitoring, Dialysis, Respiratory Ventilators, Lasers and PC based medical equipment).
- Experience with Networking and Connectivity Technology.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Working knowledge of typical office applications ( Word, Excel, Outlook and/or Lotus Notes).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good Customer/People skills.
- A work record which demonstrates good attendance, reliability, and maintenance program ownership.
- Biomedical Technician Certificate, or equivalent education and experience.
- Eligible for ICC Certification.

Notes:
- Occasional travel to attend training seminars and meetings.
- Duties may require limited travel, temporary shift and/or work assignments at other locations within the service area.
