The BlackRock Platform and Integration (BPI) organization is responsible for the global integration and business process change management activities at the firm. The BPI Mission is to ensure a globally consistent operating model and platform across all investment and operating functions. BPI plays a critical role in the "connective tissue" between the various groups within BlackRock – we bring people together to overcome key challenges.
The BPI Regulatory and Operations team is responsible for the execution of cross-functional, broad impact changes in platform, the business process and technology effecting the regulatory and operations initiatives across the firm.
The team's focus is on major change initiatives that are implemented through technology and business process redesign. We are expected to facilitate change through facts, our knowledge of the investment process, and our proprietary platform Aladdin.
The purpose of the role is to expand the scope of projects that BPI Regulatory and Operations can lead.
The role requires creativity, business analytics, flexibility, project management skills, strong communication, organization skills, initiative and ability to document and implement process improvements. The ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys a challenge and has the ability to frame and communicate complex issues in a way that everyone can understand.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Regulatory and Operations projects
- Create and present to senior management
- Lead training on new business and system functionality
- Lead all aspects of project management, from requirements gathering to post project benefits review.
- Identification of key issues, rallying resources and driving resolution
- Assist in defining scope and impact of projects, and effectively communicate results to stakeholders and management
- Provide day to day project management expertise for one or more projects.
- Manage projects to successful On Time/On Scope/On Budget delivery.
- Escalate appropriately to Management and/or business and technical sponsors.
- Provide regular, thorough, quality status reporting on projects.
- Develop a detailed project plan that identifies all tasks that need to be completed in the project, milestones, corrective actions to problems or issues (this requires bringing the right people into the resolution process at the right time), anticipation of problems, and facilitation of scope management.
- Coordinate resources within and across projects. Identify and resolve prioritization and resource conflicts through consultation with IT leads and sponsor.
- Provide motivation and direction for the project team
- Facilitate cross-organizational communication.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings among key project personnel and ensure a proper framework for risk mitigation is developed and utilized.
- Manage multiple projects that span regions, geographies, continents, and time zones.
- Focus the goals of projects and project teams to ensure conformance to requirements and appropriateness of the delivered product/solution.

Qualifications
- BA in Finance
- Extensive Experience with Business Process Redesign
- Demonstrated project management skills with a hands on approach
- Very strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Extremely motivated and ability to operate in a fast paced environment
- Familiarity with capital markets instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives)
- 10 + years' work experience in the financial services industry. Familiarity with buy-side investment management process a plus
- Excellent analytical, creative, organizational and problem solving skills
- Technical aptitude desired (e.g. SQL)
