Broker Dealer Field Sales Executive – Territory: Gulf Coast recruitment
Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies and a recognized employer of choice, seeks a field sales executive for the Financial Advisor Services sales team to market Vanguard's exchange-traded funds and mutual funds to intermediary advisor firms. As a field sales executive, you will increase the market share of these products through a targeted consultative sales approach that involves face-to-face meetings, group presentations, and attendance at regional and national industry conferences. This position is locally based in the Gulf Coast territory, ideally in the New Orleans, LA area, specifically covering the broker dealer channel for LA, AR, MS, AL, and the FL Panhandle.
Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:
- Exhibit a strong business acumen and executive sales presence to influence decision-makers.
- Develop new relationships and maintain and broaden existing relationships with financial advisors in assigned market segment and geographical territory through targeted prospecting activities.
- Thoroughly understand the philosophy and dynamics of the advisor/organization (investment philosophy, client base, product preference) and acts as a trusted advisor/consultant in matching needs with Vanguard products.
- Partner with select advisors/firms to participate in special events, client seminars, and key producer educational meetings and events.
- Plan and achieve sales objectives against specific sales activities / metrics.
- Develop and maintain a high level of expertise related to the capital markets, the investment management industry, and marketplace developments.
- Work in team environment with assigned internal wholesaler(s) and other individuals who impact the success of the group.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Undergraduate degree. Advanced degree (MBA) and professional designations (i.e. CIMA, CFP, CMFC, CFA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years sales experience with progressive career advancement and increasing levels of responsibility.
- Active FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses or the ability to obtain within 90 days of initial employment.
- Broad asset management, financial services, or intermediary channel experience preferred.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding predetermined key objectives.
- Strong executive presence, active listening, client preparedness, and presentation skills.
- Professional characteristics reflecting curiosity, empathy, and enthusiasm coupled with a solution-based drive to meet highly accountable results.
- Strong team-based selling and partnering skills.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly and resourcefully to changing situations.
- Ability and willingness to travel 80% of the time within the designated territory.
