At BNY Mellon, Finance serves our internal clients by providing world-class accounting operations and control and decision support while instituting world-class change management. Specifically, we provide three core functions: 1) strategic financial support for businesses, operational planning, forecasting and various ad-hoc financial analyses, 2) day-to-day financial services to BNY Mellon, its departments, customers and staff, 3) meet internal and external financial reporting requirements.
Description
The finance role is within Decision Support reporting to the Stress Testing Manager in the Central Management Accounting (CMA) group. The CMA group is a key function responsible for managing the corporate forecasting and budgeting processes, and for providing forward-looking financial projections in support of the Companys various required stress testing submissions to regulatory agencies.
This senior analyst position will assist in the creation of legal entity budgets and forecasts for EMEA legal entities in accordance with our regulatory and tax requirements. This includes the creation of multiple-year financial projections under various economic scenarios as required by regulators under ICAAP (Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process). The incumbent will direct and coordinate the activities of two analysts and will work closely with the appropriate legal entity controllers and with representatives of the Risk Management department to complete all stress testing activities within required timeframes.
Candidates for this position should have significant experience in financial analysis, and well as a fundamental understanding key revenue and expense drivers in the Companys core businesses. Knowledge of the companys management reporting system (MAQ) and the reporting relationships between business segments and legal entities is also preferred.
In addition, various ad-hoc and other management information reporting is routinely required for local management.
- Completion of commentary for all revenue and expense reporting, providing high level results analysis against plan and forecast for month, quarter and full year.
- Accurate and timely re-forecasting of all revenues and expenses
- Completion of annual planning cycle for all required legal entities
- Co-ordination, preparation and control of SOX documentation and overall SOX
Compliance
- Comply with all corporate policies and procedures within the department.
- Alert management immediately of any significant changes to business risks and internal controls effectiveness.
- Notify management and/or Compliance immediately of any regulatory breach.
- Comply with health and safety policies and procedures operating within the business.
Qualifications
Academic/Professional Qualifications (or equivalent qualifiers)
Newly qualified accountant with good academic background. 7 to 10 years of financial analysis experience.
Technical Skills, Knowledge, Systems Knowledge (and associated skill level)
- Strong working knowledge of both Excel and Word is essential for this role as is good attention to detail.
