Business Analyst
About The Role
Macquarie Relationship Banking, a division within our Banking and Financial Services Group, are seeking to appoint a Business Analyst into the Project and Change Delivery team (PCD). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects with widespread impact upon the business.
This is a Business Analyst role where you will utilise your business and technology skills. The role requires working closely with internal business stakeholders, IT teams and third party vendors to deliver the right outcome for the business. Reporting to a Project Manager you will be responsible for identifying, understanding and documenting business requirements and enabling the smooth implementation of projects
The successful applicant will be able to:
- Build positive working relationships with key stakeholders across multiple levels and areas of the organisation (Senior executives to more junior staff)
- Strong ability to elicit and gather requirements using a range of methods including one-on-one discussions, workshops, review of feedback, competitive product analysis etc
- Produce detailed business requirements to a high standard and for multiple audiences
- Undertake Usability Design activities to support online and user application development
- Design future state process maps and flows
- Map complex data structures to support reporting and analytics initiatives
About You
To qualify for this role, you must have the following experience:
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst working on business projects with a technology slant
- Ideally experience within the financial services industry, though not a must
- A rigorous background in the full lifecycle of business analysis activities including process mapping, scope definition, requirements elicitation and definition, data mapping, testing, implementation, and user training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to establish effective working relationships with senior management and external parties
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and business analysis experience
- A strong degree of comfort in working with established project methodologies

- Apply commercial judgement and take a practical approach - able to demonstrate an understanding of relevant operational and business drivers and determine critical and non critical business needs
- Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to effectively tailor communications to a diverse range of business and technical stakeholder groups.
- Have the ability to work well under pressure to provide timely and accurate solutions to business opportunities and challenges.
- Be a self-starter that can work well both independently and as a team. Evidence of developing effective working relationships with team members, senior management and external parties required
