Business Analyst

The Group Pensions Technology group is a multi disciplinary team consisting of Analysts, Architects and Project Managers. The collective responsibility of the Institutional technology group is to manage the Institutional project portfolio, and to drive the delivery of technology solutions as prioritised by the Institutional Business.

The role of Business Analyst is viewed as critical to the ongoing success of our client's technology transformation.

The role will require the Business Analyst to have an understanding of group pensions and related products and will include detailed requirements gathering, understanding and documenting business processes through both individual interactions and facilitation through workshops. In addition, hands on experience around systems and QA testing, ensuring the end deliverable meets the requirements of our clients is key to ensuring success.

There are also a number of service requests, which come from the business, which would need to be supported through pieces of tactical work. The successful candidate will need to have experience of quickly triaging current processes and providing analysis around possible short term solutions required to maintain services until a full strategic solution is available.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Establishing/maintaining good working relationships with the business users and act as a point of contact on systems related issues
Conducting current state analysis including requirements gathering and process flow documentation
Providing technical input into development projects to the point of design
Producing, checking and assessing project documentation
Taking responsibility for the quality of project deliverables to the business including the organising and participating in project testing through to business sign off, project implementation, completion and post implementation reviews
Provide training and assistance to users as required
Problem troubleshooting and solving - owning, coordinating and managing the implementation of solutions
Communicating relevant, timely information to users, systems teams and management
Represent the group professionally at project and appropriate business meetings
Ensuring the links with external systems remain fully functioning and efficient

The successful candidate would be expected to have strong business analysis skills with a proven record of project participation and delivery. The ability to understand technical design and assess approach to rectify any issues encountered is also important.

You will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Pensions and related product knowledge
Strong business analysis skills with a proven record of project participation
Understanding of detailed systems designs documentation
Flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a willingness to undertake tasks outside of core skillset
Be able to facilitate business technology workshops including walkthroughs for users of all levels
Obtain business understanding and agreement on technology deliverables 
Ability to understand technical issues and contribute to successful solutions
Working knowledge of project/development life cycles including formal methods
Driving reviewing test scripts for both system integration and user acceptance testing
Able to work to tight deadlines, and manage several tasks concurrently
Exposure to working with global teams and large-scale technology platform implementations
