Application Support Manager
This position will involve hands on management of a highly effective front line support team and will face off on a daily basis to senior front office professionals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Coordinate cross discipline teams to obtain resolution of major incidents
- Build and maintain business domain and application knowledge within the application support team, including structured knowledge management and training programmes
- Establish and continuously improve processes to ensure operational stability for the business as well as monitor, and ensure adherence to SLAs/OLAs
- Generate, analyse, and report on operational metrics to provide an understanding of the current status of the production environment and to identify the best opportunities for improvement
- Provide regular service delivery reviews with key business and technology stakeholders
- Support of application testing for new releases maintenance fixes
- Estimate, plan, and complete small support oriented project on-time and on-budget
- Coordinate with IT security teams to maintain standard access definitions and setup access for new hires
- Business continuity planning, documentation, and validation
- End user application training
You will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Experience and domain knowledge in Fixed Income technology (buy side preferred)
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple technology teams to manage a crisis to resolution
- The ability to proactively identify and respond to changing market conditions which may affect applications
- Extensive production support experience and knowledge of what is required to ensure production stability
- Experience in documenting procedures and conducting training sessions
- Proven experience in service management following the ITIL or ISO 20000 framework
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts (Oracle experience preferred) is a highly desirable skill
- Intermediate knowledge of Linux and Windows Server system usage
- Working knowledge of networks/firewalls/internet connectivity
- Knowledge of the Windows permissioning, administration, and/or scripting
- Familiar with middle tier technologies (i.e. Websphere, MQ, Tomcat);
